The Regional Food Hub Resource Guide is out!  And co-operatives are extremely well-represented as 21% of the food hubs identified of a working list of 168 regional food hubs!

As USDA Deputy Secretary Merrigan said in an April 19, 2011 blog post, Food Hubs “are incredibly innovative business models specifically addressing some of our producers’ most overwhelming challenges." The National Food Hub Collaboration sees food hubs as engines for regional economic growth. We believe they provide critical infrastructure support, services, and market opportunities for producers, distributors, and others that work together in the supply chain.

The National Food Hub Collaboration is a partnership between USDA, Wallace Center at Winrock International, National Good Food Network, National Association of Produce Market Managers, and Project for Public Spaces. The Collaboration collects and analyzes the latest developments, research, and activity related to food hubs, and is working to ensure the success of existing and developing food hubs in the US.
